Enrollment Process

 

1. Complete online application at www.pacificlutheranhigh.com

3. Interview conducted with Principal Lucas Fitzgerald

4. Admission granted/denied.

5. Paid enrollment fee holds student’s spot.

6. Student testing occurs in late summer through ALEKS software after students have been accepted to Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School.

 

Shadow Day Opportunities By appointment

Prospective students are invited to shadow a current Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School student to experience a day in the life of a PacLu student. Students in 8th grade and high school transfer students may shadow PacLu students by appointment beginning in October. These dates should be scheduled at least one week in advance by contacting the school office at 310-538-6863.

 

Prospective students should adhere to Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School’s dress code while they are on campus for the visit which lasts from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

How much does Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School cost?

Annual tuition at Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School is $7,000 for the 2016-17 school year. There is an annual enrollment fee of
$500.00. Tuition is generally paid over 10 months (August-May) but semi- annual and annual payment plans are available for a 5% discount. Unlike other area private schools, there are no additional mandatory uniform fees, book fees, or fundraising fees for Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School students which often add thousands of dollars to private schools’ costs. Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School is proud to be the least expensive WASC-accredited Christian high school in the South Bay Area of Los Angeles.

What does a student need to do for admission to Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School?

Applicants to Pacific Lutheran are required to complete an application (online or hard copy), submit their last two years of school transcripts and a recommendation letter to the school office and complete a principal interview prior to admission.

 

Does Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School test students before admission?

Pacific Lutheran does not test students prior to admission. The school assesses students following admission with the ALEKS Math Assessment, the Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED), and faculty-constructed initial assessments.

 

Do you accept transfer students? 

Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School accepts transfer students each year on a case by case basis. The school does not accept students involved with drug or violence-related issues at a previous school or with any other “situation” that would not be conducive to our Christian school community and atmosphere.

 

Do you accept students year-round?

PacLu accepts students year-round on a case by case basis. It is best that students begin the school year or second semester with us but exceptions are made when necessary.

 

Do you accept international students?

Pacific Lutheran Jr./ Sr. High School accepts international students. Those interested in enrollment should contact the school office for more information
